I'm planning on doing a Role Playing Game set in a future world/star system that lost most of its technology in a war whose origins are lost in time. My first rule in this game is that there are no aliens, but through accelerated evolution and genetic manipulation there are elves, dwarves and orcs in addition to humans. Adventurers make a living raiding ghost ships floating through the system, as well as old space stations, ruined cities etc. The core worlds have about our tech level, but with space ships and some advanced tech found and brought back, including robots, mechs and some power armor. Think BSG and Firefly. Some of the other worlds will have post apocalyptic type of socities ala Mad Max. There will be pirates raiding the shipping and space explorers searching the lost planets as well. I was going to do this in 28mm, but the sheer cost of 28mm infantry and lack of vehicles/cost of conversion, storage, transport started to daunt me, and then I found some pages with 15mm clone troopers and a Han Solo converted figure ( from a Mal Reynolds fig!). I was hooked! Now if I could only settle on what figs to represent the various forces! Thanks for letting me ramble! |

Oh and of course there will be…zombies…and demons. Best Sci Fi Game world ever! |

So Shadowrun in spaaaace ? sounds like a recipe for lots of fun space adventure. Are you doing rules as well or is it just a world to play in? |

I'm interested in seeing what you can come up with. |

It won't have the feel of Shadowrun. More like DnD in space. I forgot to thank everyone who helped me in the other thread I made for figure recommendations. It stopped allowing replies for some reason on that one. I guess I got burned out on the DnD rules…so many flaws in that game. Some of them techincal, others having to do with clunky game mechanics. I rewrote the DnD rules….but A. I wanted to play a sci fi game and B. I figured it would be easier to get people to play a sci fi game rather then play a different fantasy game. Now all I need to do is find someone to run it with me so I can play! |

Now if I could only settle on what figs to represent the various forces! Too much choice…. (and in my case nowhere near enough cash). Though for an RPG you don't need that figures of each type? Some manufactures do single casts and failing that a single pack usually isn't too costly. |

Thanks! The fun thing aboutt this project is I get to do a wide range of figures….westernguys as civilians, 17th centurty types as aristocrats, pirate guys as…well..pirates! My golden fleece/holy grail figure will be a swashbuckler type that I can convert to Captain Harlock. |

The good thing is, there's now a huge selection of choices from various manufacturers, in 15mm scale. Let us know what you decide. I like your premise. |

Yup, what ROU said. It's a fantastic line with support weapons too. One of my favorite set of figures. |

Hey MrHarold- I'm going to use your figures as my main source for my Chaos Earth campaign. I finally found an excuse to buy some! TMP link |

I have seen them! So many choices. I'll probably do a companion skirmish/big battle game to go along with the RPG game, to justify buying lots of miniatures from different companies :) |

BTW high gravity is one reason why there are dwarves living in the moon ( I have not named it yet…any ideas?) orbiting Arcadia, the planet of the elves. |
