doodlebot.net/redoubt/?p=1545 Played our first game of Armada and absolutely loved it! My son Alex whipped me solidly and we are looking forward to more games!

Looks fun, but the scale is goofy. |

Scale plays great on the tabletop. The cap ships are in scale with each other and the fighters are in scale with each other. Fighters would be too small to make miniatures of if they were in scale of the capships. |

I hope they dont try to do a Deathstar-it would be the size of a house! |

If Star Trek Attack Wing can do a Borg Cube and DS9 then chances are you'll see the Death Star although somewhat smaller to fit the game table but it'll be pricey. |

LOL I doubt they will do a death star. Pointless as a game piece. |

Only Warlock I don't think the Death Star would be a pointless game piece. I'll give you an example I play StarBlazers and have a lot of the miniature spaceships well an idea hit us in the 2nd season the enemy was the Comet Empire and the huge Flagship which shows up near the end is miles long and if we were able to have the ship it would be too big for gaming but Bandai did 2 small model kits which I have both of them and I built the smaller of the two and we did a game with it as the main target and we had fun. So it can be done so having something like the Borg Cube or the B-5 Station in a game is doable if we just shrink it down somewhat to a reasonable size for gaming. |

john lacour Looks fun, but the scale is goofy. Only Warlock The cap ships are in scale with each other.. Within reason. You may recall the opening scene of "Star Wars" (Ep. IV) the fleeing corvette is pulled into a hanger aboard an Imp. class SD. I dont think I have ever seen 'any' SciFi miniatures game, where all of the components, were 'in scale' to one another. I think w/ SciFi, scale has to be taken w/ a bit of leverage. IIRC, in a vid 'report' of a demo game at a Con (found on youtube) one of the designers makes the comment and jokes; "If they built the Imp. SD to 'actual scale', it would be huge and no one would want to pay $400 USD for it" Good point.LOL ..and the fighters are in scale with each other. Fighters would be too small to make miniatures of if they were in scale of the capships. True enough. As for the fighters, I can see these are 'fresh out of the box' (unpainted). Im sure many have seen, when/if you take a little time to paint them, they realy look amazing. |

Yes, the capital ships are a bit out of scale, but that's okay, they still work fine. And it is indeed a very good game! |
