It appears that the Iranians are suffering significant casualties in their bid to help prop up the Assad regime, and there are reports of some dissension in the ranks, with some Iranian officers refusing to obey orders:

Apparently, a number of leaders have been court-martialed for "mutiny and treason".

Really? This seems like a pile of hockey from a site with absolutely no credibility and a very clear agenda.

Now now. You are questioning the truthiness of a news source. We don't allow that kind of thing around here!

As I don't wish to be Dawg Housed….I'll say no more.
Agreed … as I say many times, the Persians, like the Iraqis and some of the others in the region are just not effective fighters. Or by any standards are not "good" at soldiering … Which is a big contributor to Daesh's success and growth.

It's one thing to die defending your homeland and another to die in some foreign civil war.

Yes … we know … Plus look at the Iran-Iraq War. Neither demonstrated much tactical or operational expertise. More like WWI with much more modern weapons.

Daesh and Jabhat al Nusra have adapted and have become more effective of late. Their ranks have also swelled as a result of former moderate rebel factions joining them because they've been abandoned by the west in its single-mindedness dealing only with ISIS.

Daesh is still the main threat … And with so many ever changing factions … it's hard for anyone to see who the "bad guys" really are at any given time. In many cases. If some feel/were abandoned by the West, they may have proven incompetent or as we see … untrustworthy.

I think the casualties are to be expected. Iran showed in their war with Iraq that human waves was a valid form of combat for Iran. We should be expecting something similar in Syria.
