When Reaper Miniatures says "25mm Heroic Scale" does that mean 28mm? I'm just starting a collection and I'm a stickler for scale…

If you are a stickler for scale you are in the wrong hobby.

It depends on which line. The Dark Heaven line has a few thousand minis. The early ones with the lower SKU# Are a little larger than 25mm… all of the latter ones, the majority, are 28mm.

The Warlord line is 30mm.

The Chronoscope line varies from sculptor to sculptor & can be anywhere from 28mm to 32mm.

Also, some of the Bones figures are slightly smaller than their metal counterparts.

Like AF says, the older Dark Heaven figures, particularly those designed by Sandra Garrity, are smaller and fit nicely with my Foundry Vikings. They serve as characters or Norse monsters. Many of the others are larger. I'm currently painting up a later figure holding a knife behind his back as Loki, and the Viking on the table only comes up to his eyes.

So, yup, they wander around in scale/height.

It really is around 32mm. Will tower over most other miniatures. The best thing is to bring a miniature and compare at the store.

Thanks, Beowulf, Grel and AF. I actually thought 33mm might be the case. Well, looks like I might be better off staying with Murch, eh?

Again that depends on what you are looking for. All of the Reaper miniatures that I have for fantasy, and sci-fi mix well with Eureka, Foundry, Artizan and other manufacturers.

The ones that really tower over other figures tend to be the Western and colonial figures in the Chronoscope range. Yet, they match well with Black Scorpion.

Some of the photos have triangles in them that are 1/2" apart to give the size of the miniature. And you can always drop Reaper a quick e-mail & they can tell you the size.
