Hi all,
does anyone own the book with this title, published by Foundry?
There is no discription on the Foundry website about the content, and reaction on my email about it does not help me also ("I have not read the book, but you might find it an onteresting read")
I am specificaly looking for info on the 1st Afghan War, 1839-42.

Many thanks!

No info on that in the "Rival of the Raj". It contains chapters on the French, Portugese, German, etc… colonial armies and shortly dwells on their respective theatres and campaigns.

As far as the 1st Afghan War is covered, you will be better served with "The British in India" by John French – some 12 pages cover that war.

If you need a more detailed content-table, let me know. I was lucky enough to get all of Foundrys book line.

BTW: The 1st Afgan war is also covered in the first chapter of "Queen Victorias Little Wars" (some 10 pages), which has come 30 chapters on the larger campaings and mentions dozens of others during her never peaceful reign. Recommended :-)

'Rivals of the Raj' the book has listings, info and uniform details of Non-British Colonial Armies in Asia 1497-1941, no info on 1st Afghan at all. Maybe your thinking of another book from Foundry?
Cheers

Puster,

I have "The British in India", but in it there is reference to an upcoming second part. I was hoping "Rivals of the Raj" was it, but it appears not to be so.
I will take a look at "Queen Victoria's Little Wars"

Thanks for all your responses!
