"The CW's popular DC Comics series Arrow and The Flash have both been in top form so far this season, but there's a growing minority of fans who are a bit perturbed that so much of the beginning of both seasons has been devoted to setting up the third strand of Greg Berlanti's superhero empire on the network: Legends of Tomorrow. Now there's not much left to set up because the CW has officially announced the show will debut Jan. 21, and has dropped a new full-length trailer for the series.

The premise is there in the first 30 seconds: In 2166, immortal DC staple villain Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) rules the entire world. So time-traveler Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) puts together a team of superheroes to traverse spacetime in order to prevent Savage from seizing total control. The rest of the nine-person team includes: The Atom/Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), White Canary/Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Hawkman (Falk Hentschel), Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée), and Firestorm—the new team of Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Jefferson "Jax" Jackson (Franz Drameh). It's a heavy character investment for a second spin-off of Arrow, but putting a bunch of heroes together in a time machine with a specific mission seems to have just the right tone of outright lunacy."

I think some are dead … as in they are going to burn out early on to a smaller sized team, with guest spots to other star players to come in for episodic roles..
