Are the ships boats available separately for GHQ/Langton miniatures? I wanted to try a few things with them

Write an email to Langton miniatures exposing your case.
I know that Langton miniatures does this services, but on one condition: pay all parts cloned matrix. (of course you take all the parts) For scale 1/300 it's a great service but I dont know if worth it in 1/1200

Does any of the GHQ kits come with separate boats?

ModelJShip25 Nov 2015 7:53 a.m. PST

I really don't know, I have never bought GHQ ships

Langton do pinnaces, cutters, launches and rowed boats. All very nice, I have lots of them:

I've ordered Langton's pinnaces before. The kit came with I think three rowed pieces and three with masts and brass sails.

Most, if not all, GHQ kits come with separate ship's boats, the larger vessels having more of them. They all have more than they can carry, so you accumulate lots of spares very quickly. They're also much more in scale.

Langton's do sets of 5 manned oared ships-boats "Attacking Boats" with a Shore-battery, a Signal Station or a Martello Tower. For £2.00 GBP a set. I got 1 Martello Tower and 4 Shore-batteries = 20 ships-boats. I see it as 50p a boat and 5 free Shore-pieces. I mounted 2 or 3 boats on a U.K. 2p coin. O.K. you must add P&P, but I got a set each time I ordered a number of ships from Langton's

P.S. I paid less as I got mine some years ago.

FYI – GHQ will sell just about any parts as spares. That would include ship's boats and anchors for the 1/1200 line.

I have ordered extra anchors and boats from GHQ. It just took an e-mail request. I can't remember off hand what I paid but it wasn't much.

FYI the Langton rowed boats have a cast-on base, so you can't stick them on a sea base with your ships (unless you make your own bases).

As said above, I mount mine on a 2p coin. I glue them to a coin and add "Green-Stuff" around the boats. I then ruff-up the surface to look like water. I would use GHQ boats on ships bases as they would not be manned. Unless they are towing the said ship.

I like Valiant Enterprises' 1/2000 scale ship boats as I think the ships boats are more 1/1200

Unfortunately they are all crewed so if you wanted empty boats they won't work for that.
