Many moons ago, I started working on Runequest/Glorantha slirmish warbands for Brink of Battle and/or Song of Blades and Heroes. I finished my Ducks, and then I lost steam. One of the things I really wanted to do was a Morokanth group, with a few Morokanth leaders but mostly Gern, or Human slaves.

Morokanth have been described as tapir-like quadrupeds with forepaws barely able to grasp and manipulate objects. Gern are humans who are kept in herds by the Morokanth, and have intelligence little better than apes or monkeys. They frequently acquire fully intelligent humans as slaves, presumably kept under control by one form of Rune magic or another.

There have been a few ranges of Morokanth from different nanufacturers over the last 35 yeats or so, and they all depict the Morokanth as bipedal, with proper hands. This us mostly how they are depicted in artwork as well.

I have acquired a couple of toy tapirs (Safari Toob) that are perfectly scaled for 28mm. I am going to convert them to be wizardly types, for use in Frostgrave. They will (hopefully) be elegantly decorated and using one forepaw to hold their staff or other weapon.

This is going to be fun!

Great project! Morokanth were always underrepresented, I thought, just because they are sooo different. The old Citadel sculpts are excellent, and I think Fenris have some going too.

Of course, this will lead you to do a Praxian tribe or two to raid their herds, and then Pavis, then the Storm Bull camp at the Rock…

Sound like it frostgrave could work for the "Big Rubble"

Frostgrave is perfect for the Big Rubble… I think it works really well to simulate Glorantha
