"Netflix is to reboot classic TV show Lost in Space, according to reports. Deadline said the streaming service was successful following a round of multiple bids for the project, about a family of astronauts lost in an alien universe. The original series – loosely based on The Swiss Family Robinson – aired in 1965 and was made into a 1998 film starring Friends' Matt LeBlanc. Netflix has not commented on the reports. The new series will be written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, who wrote last year's Dracula Untold, starring Luke Evans…" See here link Amicalement Armand |

I loved the (campy) TV show as a kid, and I still have a few of the Gold Key comics in my collection. The movie was visually interesting, but otherwise forgettable. I'll give the Netflix series a look, if it comes to fruition. |

I used to know a writer who wrote a reboot script for LiS about ten years ago. He asked me my opinion about what to do with Doctor Smith. I suggested that Doctor Smith could be Will Robinson's imaginary friend that is accidentally brought to life through interaction with an alien merchandise maker. The script I guess went into the trash bin. |

See the old shows are on one of cables rerun channels. I have watched a few usually wondering what I would do to Dr Smith while doing it. |

Bill, if you ever find out the title of the novel I would love to read that! (If it was older – i.e. 60's) The Gold Key comics are awesome! They have anthologies out:
