"China is establishing its first military base in Africa, according to a top U.S. general, providing yet another sign of its growing reach beyond the Asia-Pacific. "They are going to build a base in Djibouti, so that will be their first military location in Africa," U.S. Army Gen. David Rodriguez, the commander of U.S. Africa Command, recently told defense reporters…" Full article here link Amicalement Armand |

The Chinese will care about the jihadis when the jihadis attack the Chinese-owned mines. And then we're probably going to see the Chinese deploy multiple Corps worth of troops to destroy the jihadis (and probably any civilians they're hiding behind, sadly). Thing is, the African nations were told up front that if they allowed Chinese miners in, Chinese troops would come if happened to the mines. Mines are being threatened by jihadis, so Chinese troops are arriving. |

Everyone is focused on the Middle East so China is using that to their advantage. Additionally, the anger towards Islamic terrorist organizations makes the troop movement look like a good thing. Too bad most people will realize too late it was not a good thing to be overlooking. |

"You fools! Don't you realize what it means if the Chinese remain? Don't you remember your history? The last time the Chinese came, they stayed a thousand years. The French are foreigners. They are weak. Colonialism is dying. The white man is finished in Asia. But if the Chinese stay now, they will never go. As for me, I prefer to sniff French for five years than to eat Chinese for the rest of my life." Attributed to Ho Chi Minh. |
