Hi!

Any recommendations between Battle Flag or Little Big Men Studios shield transfers? I'm interested to know in terms of ease of application and finished result. Thanks!

I use the LBM transfers all the time and really like them. Once you do a couple they are fairly easy to use.

IMHO – I just hand paint mine, the vast majority are quartered, halved, or plain for Vikings, and Saxon ones are largely plain with detail you can do with a brush or a fine permanent artists marker pen.

Yes- with either company you do get a lot of very basic designs on each sheet that would be a lot quicker and better done with a brush, which at 25p a shield is expensive, but some of the more intricate designs look very good and would be beyond my skill and patience.

Ideally I'd paint the basic ones and add a few decals for the tricky ones, but no-one does a sheet without lots of very basic designs on it. A gap in the market?

I agree about the simple quality of some shield designs. Perhaps paint 3/4 of them and get a sheet of transfers for the odd special one?

Not sure about Battle Flag but LBMS decals are great.

What about Veni Vidi Vici waterslide tranfers? They are cheap, and the designs are more basic (and thus to me more believable).I have added details to them, even cut them up for images for banners. I find waterslide easier to use.
