I have started a new series on my blog about the Hussites, one of the more unusual movements and armies of history, starting with the infantry: Flailmen, perhaps the most characteristic of Hussite types
Halberdiers, often drawn from from the town militias
Crossbowmen
and Handgunners, who grew in numbers as the wars progressed.
Many more pictures, considerable background information, and even a nifty extended movie clip of the Battle of Sudomer 1420 (first use of War Wagon tactics by the HUssites) on my blog: Part 1 link Part 2 link Future posts will continue the background information and include the artillery, cavalry, and of course the famous War Wagons. Thanks for reading! Peter |

Glad you enjoyed them; the Hussites were quite fascinating, IMHO, religiously, socially, and of course, militarily! There will; be more to come… |
