Yes ! About time too. Think the last Airfix wargame one was this one:
Which would have been Xmas 1975-ish. I remember seeing it on a visit to Santa's Grotto in Selfridges. Sadly I didn't get it for Christmas that, or any other year. It were a hard life back then, and intricate wargames with figures n'all were but a dream…if we wanted a wargame we had to whittle detailed armies from sticks…with nowt but our teeth. And terrain, ooh, we dreamed of terrain. We 'ad to imagine mod-roc hills an' hougemont were just an upturned egg-box (that's almost true by the way!)…and you tell that to the kids today, and they don't believe you. |

Wow, a protractor. That's from back in the days where we expected our kids to apply math skills and such. I would have loved that set when I was a kid. I would have been 7 years old that Christmas, but I doubt I could have afforded it either. |

That Waterloo game is where I started with the hobby, back when I was 11. The calipers for movement was a great idea and deserves a comeback. |

As far as I read from the description, there are no plastic miniatures included in this set. Also, as far as I can tell, it seems to me that you can probably play that game also outside United Kingdom. |

Alas, the 1975 Sears Christmas catalog brought me the Marx Civil War play set. My friend got the Guns of Navarone set. We thought we were in heaven and many a brave soldier were lost to back yards, BB guns and fire crackers that year. The little Airfix soldiers available at the local Woolworth's just didn't seem as fun at the time. I still have some of the British commandos and Africa corp. figures. |

WW2, curses. I would love to see their take on Naps. But a crowded field, so will interesting to see how this does, and whether Airfix can be bothered to support/push it. I am not holding my breath |

Well, they could build a Napoleonic version around this : link
(9 sets of figures, plus the wagon/terrain features pack, a diorama base and the farmhouse – plus paints and brushes and glue – for £40.00 GBP) |
