I just picked up an army of Geomancers (Earth Elementals and wizards) and an army of Dwarves with a couple of large mechcanical golems. Any suggestions on a rule set that would work? Anyone know of existing army lists built for these ranges? |

Hordes of the Things will handle just about anything you can throw at it. |

Second the recommendation of HotT. Great rules set. |

I'm using Mighty Armies for my 6mm fantasy project(s). It has some army lists available and you can build your own units easily enough. It is element-based, so even though it was originally a 15mm ruleset, it can be used for any sized figures, mine are on 25x50mm and 50x50mm. |

Is this battle or skirmish sized combat? Edit: from the OP description (what size is an army in your games) I am unsure. |

Hordes of the Things. It's free, it's quick, it lets you play with your army composition in a fun way, it's exciting, you can play with almost anyone, it requires a modest amount of miniatures. And the Microword Games miniatures are awesome. |

Anything you like really, but my go to is Warmaster with proxied armies regardless of scale. Plus it's free. :-) |

Mayhem. You can build anything you can imagine with the points based army construction system and the sorcery/magic system has special rules for controlling magical constructs. And since you'll be using 6mm, you might find the rules for creating strongholds and keeps interesting. ;) You also have access to Armies of Mayhem which is a set of files for use with the BattleScribe army creation software [which is free!] to make experimenting with different rosters even easier. |

First, your order is shipping out tomorrow morning :) As far as ready-made army lists, a new set of rules actually just came out that one of my customers wrote up called "Lord and Lands" Link to the author;\'s site with army lists: link Link to youtube tutorial (one of a series): YouTube link Another customer of mine had started on a set of rules a while back, I'm not sure if he is still working on them though, but the beginnings of the game are here: link Other than that, I can vouch for Mayhem being an awesome game, very cool unit creation system and interesting mechanics. Mighty Armies is a bit more generic from a unit construction perspective, but is good for quick games. I also am a fan of Fantasy Rules! by Chipco. I have 3rd edition, which is ridiculously comprehensive in terms of what it covers. |

Awesome, I'm hoping to get them painted before Christmas for my brother. Bystander, I think we should have 15-20 bases each. Any advice on table size, complexity, length of game? It looks like Mighty Armies and Hott both can play on a 2x2 table and about an hour. How about the others? Appreciate the advice. |
