Be gentle! As the title says, this is my first attempt at SS camouflage with Artizan 28mm figures. I used the methods laid down in the first Painting War book. Maybe the blue eyes are a bit scary, what do you reckon?[URL=http://s1119.photobucket.com/user/foxweasel1/media/G5_zpsknqggefh.jpg.html]

I think that's an great first shot at a very difficult pattern. |

Cracking first attempt, there. Pick of the bunch is the trouser pattern on the bottom figure – very clean, distinct and not overworked. The blue eyes? E-e-e-r… yeah, no. I do like the basing material, though – I sometimes use pot-pourri material to get a similar effect. |

Thanks for the great comments. You're right about the eyes, I was going for the cold hearted uber Nazi look, just looks silly now. The leaves are birch seeds I collected at Centre Parcs this year while the kids were on the swings. |

John L…please finish your sentence. I'm sure we would all love to hear why Foxweasel should not quit his day job. Foxweasel, your Camo looks great. Also rather like your Autumnal bases. Bravo. What did you use for the rather fine brown leaves? |

The camo is really well done. The eyes should be dark slits, no need for all that white, it's not needed and I think detracts a bit from the nice overall effect. |

Cheers Kropotkin, the leaves are all silver birch seeds. Some look like big deciduous leaves and you can buy them or collect from under the tree like I did. When you collect them you get all sorts of other muck which all adds to the look. |

The fall/spring oak leaf camo looks great. If you file off the eagle insignia on the caps they can be painted in camo as well. |

Nicely done, keep to that style it works and is effective, eyes are not as an important feature I believe so shadows with a dark line/dot is good enough and far more menacing/expressive. Cheers well done. |

Fox weasel, I like the camo – but not the eyes. I think they would look meaner if you had just done a wash over the face and not painted huge eyes. But the camo is excellent. |

I gave up on the camo and went the camo decal sheets. they are fiddly until you get it down and you have to, or at least should, paint the are to match the background color of the camo sheet. What you have done was better that what I could do free hand with out losing my mind. keep it up. Should really look for the boxes with those Germans. have seen them for a while. |
