When I found the winter stuff, I got all excited about snow terrain. I have several pieces in progress already, I will probably have pics up next week. But today is Painting Day! |

I wouldn't worry too much about having suitably frosty terrain. Just use whatever you've got and you'll have a fantastic game. |

A lot of my scenery needs to fill the bill for Middle East, North Africa, Southern Europe, and Old West. Let me tell you, it can get really cold in the desert (or above the tree line). |

I know Frostgrave doesn't have to played in the snow, but for me, I've enjoyed the opportunity to have a reason to build a lot of winter terrain. It's something I've never really done before, so I'm enjoying the creative exercise. |

@punkrabbitt returns: Go ahead, make all the warbands you want. I'm doing the same. If a spell combo occurs to me, I'll make a warband or tinker with an existing one that I've drafted up on paper but not played. I'm not sure how the forthcoming Thaw of the Lich Lord campaign will work, but if it requires that one start with a new warband I'm ready. I just have to decide whether to use an Enchanter or Sigilist. One of the campaign options mentioned in the pre-release advertising was instead of fighting the Lich Lord, you could join him, so one Magister Johannes Faustus will slide into corruption (only out of the best intentions,of course, like his namesake). So if Frostgrave is stimulating your imagination, just run with it. I haven't been this productive hobbywise in years! As for putting Frost in Frostgrave … my existing terrain collection is Northern European temperate. I wouldn't mind winterized pieces, but you work with what you've got. In the long run, it will be "Sandgrave" for me. My plans are to get Egyptian ruins as they can serve in two other minis games as is. Also, my personal image of Frostgrave is of ancient Egypt, but under ice instead of sand. The contrast between surviving wall paintings and the present climate will be stark. |

Yes Frostgrave does not need to be in a Winter setting. You can set it up in any setting. Plus the rules are great for other scenarios as well. Like a Hunger Games setting were there are teams of 3-5 individuals per team. Oh and no magic. Each Team member starts in different areas across the table but have no weapons. Weapons can be found around the table with the most being in the Center of the table. So Players would have to consider go for the weapons or get their teams together then go for weapons. Oh and there are traps and other enemies on the table as well. So that players just might need to team up in order to stay alive. Frostgrave is a great set of rules for something like this. |
