I can't seem to find anything in the Frostgrave rules about models dual-wielding weapons; I have a L O T of models I would like to use with twin swords or twin axes. None of the standard troop types have this available as an option. The closest is hand weapon and dagger, which only Treasure Hunters have as equipment.

I see the two main options as treating dual weapons as either sword and shield (parrying with off hand) or two-handed weapon (greater ferocity.)

What do y'all think?

I pay more attention to the "look" of the figure rather than what weapons it is actually carrying. If it looks like a Thug but is carrying a battle ax, that doesn't bother me…I treat it like a Thug and use Thug stats.
All that is really important to me is the name and the stats, and that the model looks like what is supposed to represent. If I tried to match every type to an exact figure, I wouldn't have enough figures to play.

And as I think about it, the same is true of armor. I have very few figures in leather armor; most are in chain or plate. That doesn't stop me from fielding them as soldier types that are supposed to be leather-clad, as long as I use the stat the book provides for that class it doesnt matter to me.

As Chris above says..don't be too prescriptive…

If your character has two swords so what – just assume that he prefers two swords to one but carries the same stats..

I'd be very surprised if many folks use two swords and attack with both simultaneously.

From what I've seen of fighting techniques, it's more using the sequentially or, alternatively, using one to parry while attacking with the other.

I guess two swords gives the advantage of the opponent not knowing which hand is coming at them and the user having the second weapon as a spare if you drop or break the first one.

The disadvantage, of course, is that – unlike light-sabres – parrying with a sword doesn't stop missile weapons so much!

My opinion is the equipment is more a guideline than a hard rule. So long as everyone is clear on what the model can do, the look is more a 'style' thing.

I more concentrate on the armour myself and 'look'. The low tier followers : thugs and thieves will just have clothes (often heavy because it's cold). Daggers for thieves and swords or axes or clubs for thugs. Dual wielding should be fine, at least for thugs.

Mid tier figures will have better equipment: an actual shield, helmets, double handed weapons and light armour.

High tier figures have better gear… use what you want so long as you keep your theme and you and your opponent can tell what figure is what.

The 'Treasure Hunter' has a 'hand weapon and dagger' listed as his equipment, so I tend to think of them as having dual weapons and use those sorts of figures as that type of Frostgrave soldier.

I am starting my Dwarf Witch-Lord And His Merry Men warband for Dwarvember, and my dwarf slayer has two axes and is otherwise nekkid, I am wanting to field him as a Barbarian but… two weapons instead of two-handed weapon. Which is why I am fielding opinions on this matter o_0

I don't think it matters at all. Frostgrave is essentially a game about spellcasters and their treasure-seeking adventures. Everyone else is there to keep an eye on trouble, and carry the swag away. The combat rules are very simple indeed, and clearly that's deliberate; the game isn't really about that.

Under the Wizard Section, it says:

If a wizard is armed with both a sword and a dagger, he receives + 1 Fight

For the Treasure hunter, that is factored into his stats already.
