My boys are getting into Rifts… well, Chaos Earth anyway, and I do have some great 15mm troops in hardsuits to cover the NEMA troops:
And I have vehicles and ideas for evil demons and stuff. But what I need is a Glitter Boy.
There's a 25mm Glitter Boy:
link
But I want something in 15mm. Any ideas on a decent proxy? I want something basically humanoid toting a really big gun. Thanks! |

You might want to look at 20mm or true 25mm power armored troops, they will have the size you are looking for. I am not sure who makes any ranges like this. |

GZG do a 15mm figure that would do Cyclops Heavy Battlesuit (2.8m tall Infantry Combat Walker ) with heavy autorifle – pack of 2, variant poses with separate arms
Cyclops Heavy Battlesuit (2.8m tall Infantry Combat Walker) with special weapons
Some of GZG 25mm Stargrunt powered armour might also be suitable. |

Those Battletech units might just work. The GZGs are probably best size wise though. I'll check into them too. |

Battletech 'Wasp' with a 15mm bounty hunter.
Battletech mini's scale nicely as 15mm power armour. |

I'm sure something from the Infinity range would work well. But I've little idea what or who Gary Glitter is. |

How about trying 1/144 Gundam trading figures from Takara they are usually about one to one and a half inches tall and most of them have that Glitter boy look. |

Interesting use of the old unseen Wasp. I've used Battletech miniatures with 15mm for a while and have been happy with them.
However they are a bit bigger than a Glitter Boy should be. They are only about 10' 5" tall. My two updated Valkyries are around 18' tall in 15mm. If you look at the picture above you can see a Rebel Minis figure standing between the two Valks. He's a bit taller than their kneecaps, so the mecha aren't quite more than 3-4 times his height. So I'm looking for something a bit shorter. To me the Battletech mechs are more like small mechs/battlesuits. So not quite Battlemechs, but larger than powersuits. But yeah, I use them myself and have been happy with them. By the way, the big boy in the middle is an old Vor Ares Battlesuit. It's suppose to be 28mm/30mm, but it makes a great mech in 15mm! |

Art crime productions and Darkest star both make some nice anime inspired mecha for 15mm. |

I'm sure something from the Infinity range would work well. Infinity has a couple 28mm Glitterboys: the Yan Huo suits from the Yu Jing faction:
and
However, those are standing on 40mm round bases and are almost 50mm to the head. Not going to fly as 1/100 scale Glitterboys, they're way too big. Great for 28mm Glitterboys, though! Maybe some of the helmeted infantry from the Nomads? link The other helmeted infantry are in the Haqqislam ( link )and PanOceania ( link ) factions. Haqq likes the plain big-visor motorcycle helmet, PanO has eyes and bunny ear antennas on their helmets. I'd look at the troops packing missile launchers or rocket launchers (different weapons in Infinity. MLs are antitank, RLs are incendiaries) I'd check Darkest Star for sure. |

I hit the jackpot here. clearhorizonminiatures.com/shop I found a decent proxy for the Glitter Boy.. well, close enough I guess for me. And I found a lot of NEMA like units too! Here's a good page with reference materials for NEMA and Chaos Earth so check it out if you don't have your Chaos Earth book handy. Anyway, here are my proxy finds. link
NEMA Soldiers
A decent proxy for the Mx-366 Combat ATV. I use these as HUMVEES. My son's outfit uses one of these for the squad leader. It also carries the squad's pig-man, supplies, and two CDS robot troopers.
A pup! My son's trooper is a point-man who controls a few of these!
MX-144 Combat Bikes. My son and the other troopers in his squad use these to get about.
Interesting! This looks very SAMAS like. So here's my Silver Eagle armor.
Yeah, he isn't spot-on, but he's close enough for me. Here's my Glitter Boy until I find something else. The description says this: Each Wraith team member in their armor stands approx. 12 feet tall and carries either a standard Mk 14 60mm directed energy railgun or a squad support Scythe 180mm directed energy railgun. Either advanced railgun accelerates a variable-formed nano-tech projectile up to 4500 m/s and can be used in anti-personnel, anti-vehicle or anti-structure roles. Sounds like a Glitter Boy to me! Especially the part that says that one of the six figures carries a heavy support weapon. I'm guessing that's the 180mm directed energy railgun. No pictures of it on the site though. I'll have to snap one when I get my new toys! Pretty cool. Not only did I score my Glitter Boy I also found decent proxies of all the major gear that I'm using in my campaign. So now I need a new thread. Where do I find something like this? link |

Ooooooh, shiny! I forgot these guys. Close enough. The Rebel figures are great for CS Skeles. |
