ATTENTION MARINEVILLE! …
STAND…
BY…
FOR…
ACTION!
Yes folks, yet another ambitious project, guaranteed to consume all my time and patience, but at least not all my money. Behold, my new gaming obsession: Stingray: The Next Generation!
But why won't this latest exercise in miniature lunacy swallow all my cash? Because it's also a recycling project! All the super-subs that will be used in this game are made from old shavers and trimmers salvaged from the trashed stock at my store. Add some plastic card fins, and Ratemaster thingies from spare Lego wheels, and away we (cheaply) go! And, because it's dark down there beneath the waves…
…let there be light! There will be more on all this as it progresses, with full write-ups of how-to's on my blog, Martin's Models. PWOR! |

Thank you John! I'm sure you can guess who provided me with about 99% of the inspiration to have a go at a Stingray game… ;) |

Beautiful model. It's the paint scheme that gives it away isn't it? It could just be any old futuristic submarine but with that paint scheme it shouts! Intrigued as to how you will tackle the Terror Fish … |

Many thanks to you all for your very encouraging comments. I don't think I've had so many on a single thread before!! With Stingray-D out on her trials, work has begun on sister-ship Triggerfish, and I think she'll hit the water this weekend. Meantime, here's a sneak peek of one of their opposition – a Wahaika class Seafighter of the Oceanic Revolutionary Council for Action:
More to come! |
