An interesting project. How long is a destroyer model? Is a 40 footer about 3/4"?

The destroyers are a little over 3". You are right on the 40' boat.

Very interesting! I hadn't thought of this as a naval gaming environment, but then, I'm an Australian. Biggest bodies of inland water we see are swimming pools…

All sorts of action on Ontario during the War of 1812, and by the 20th century even more useful targets on both sides of the lake. That's a short way of saying I like this idea a LOT.
