There were enough supporters in the recent poll, so the new board has been created. Remember the forum rule about new boards: Use it or lose it! |

It'll be interesting to see if this works out, but worth a try…. :-) |

So, for us Luddites, the difference between the Ultramodern and Ultramodern gaming boards is? |
gunnerphil | 16 Nov 2015 4:07 p.m. PST |
Mako, is easy, no difference is just to confuse people. Now if looking for info on say, 1985 orbats, you might find if it on Flames of War Board, but it might be on Modern Board, or Cold War Board, perhaps Ultramodern, or Ultra Modern Gaming. So people will end up cross posting and that seems to annoy other people. Or will ask where to find info and that annoys others. Ah well sure it will be fine. |

Why would they get DH'd, since the other is for non-gaming discussions, and/or gaming AND non-gaming discussions now, apparently? |

Thanks gunnerphil, that make it all crystal clear! |

Cedric, My question is what happens if I want to game battles in 2016. Do we need another board, something like "Super Ultra Modern". And if Someone makes a speech about defense cuts to start in 2016 not Ultra Modern Board that stops in 2 months time. |
Weasel | 17 Nov 2015 2:09 p.m. PST |
The distinction is that the gaming board will have topics about things other than the F35 and A10 ;-) |

That's a question for the Futuristic, or Sci-Fi gaming boards, of course. Not if someone makes a horribly performing F35, or its Chinese copy in 1/600th scale. They'll be shot out of the sky in droves. |

Thank you four clearing that up. I was worried it was a Mayan calendar thing. |

@Gunnerphil: The UM board shifted from 2004/2014 to 2005/2015 in January, so I'm pretty sure that we will be allowing 2016 events come January 2016. And about 2024 we're going to have to write a program to remove ancient posts from UM and put them into the Modern Discussion sub-board. |
Mako11 | 18 Nov 2015 1:35 p.m. PST |
Then, of course, we'll be needing a Cold War II board as well. End date is indeterminate at this time. |

So we have an Ultrammodern Gaming Board (for discussing games, no politics!) and an Ultramodern Board (for discussing modern events, no politics!)……how about we just have a Modern Politics board and dawghouse anyone who posts on it automatically. |

I know that the nomenclature might be weird but I'm very glad that Bill did this. Well done!!! |
