Very cool looking. I never had any Rogue Trader era stuff but just picked up the Betrayal at Calth set and started those figures as World Eaters in the blue and white scheme. I have the first two painted. When I get them based I'll post some pics. |

Big :)) this era gave me sooo much joy even with that tomb of a book of arbitrary rules, still remember me and a mate splitting a box and painting, scratch building and playing and playing. Yip 25 years ago wow 8+O alas all of those guys have gone to Space Marine heaven :( but-but I'm slowly getting my treasure ( heheh all metal ones) done up ready for some old school fun with a great friend ( hey wow he wasn't even born when I got my Rouge Trader book 8-+) so thanks these great do overs are very inspiring, well done there. I'm thinking of using a offshoot of Bolt Action rules called Bolter Action which seems to be perfect for gaming smallish games set in the RT universe, what do you guys think, what rules are you thinking of using. Cheers wish these plastics were still around too. |

"Road Trader plastic Marines" Oh. I thought it was about traveling salesmen as Marines. ;-) |

@Zargon, I am with you, I had a lot of joy myself from that time and for me it was about 27 plus years ago. We have been collecting miniatures to play some old school goodness our selves but it will be with the original RT book. |

I like the re-sectioning you've done with the legs, I may have to try that myself. I have a Plano case full of RTB01 parts that will someday be used in my continuing RT armies. link link Cheers and great project! w. |

Hi @Warlord, yeah I'll still use the book (boy it dog ear'd and falling apart :) from use and thumbing trough but like the idea of incorporating the BA sequence (which is so like a RT type of update) as without the Book its not really RT. Yes @wehrmacht if I had some of the RTB01 womble plakkies I'd also re animate them after seeing these, nice idea that @Carpet General |

'Road Trader', don't you just love autocorrect. I of course meant Rope Trader. During the original RT era I actually had the Ork plastics and my main opponent had the Squats, I had always planned on getting the marines and then 2nd edition came along and I dropped a ton of cash on a metal Space Wolves army. |

Nice Job General! You've really brought those old figs a more modern look. Zargon, I have a couple of 40k armies and I also like to dip into the 40k universe once in a while. However, I also despise the current edition (the last couple editions actually) of 40k. There are two free rulesets that our club has used. For big apocalypse size battles I use the Warpath 1.0 rules which are basically Kings of War in space. It's a great chance to cram a table for a ridiculous battle but not take all day doing so. It really gets the 40k balance (or imbalance depending in your view) of melee and ranged combat right. For small warband size encounters, "In The Emperor's Name" rules (The forerunner of In Her Magesty's Name) are really clever and extremely rules light while still capturing the feel of the 40k universe. It has a pretty neat campaign system too. |

They look really good, your painting style is superb, these troops look like they've been in a real battle. I like the old style marines, they were good fighters but a long way removed from the 8 foot tall gods of modern 40k. |

I like where you're going with this. Very very nicely done. |

Have any of you tried out the 1page40k rules? They look like they could be fun… |
