Seeing a lot of great work from others I had to give it a try. Using a cut away strip of fiberglass insect screen and 28 gauge brass wire and a drill.
I think I nailed it! More pictures can be seen here; link Thanks for looking Doug silo1313.blogspot.com |

Thanks, I had to attempt this just a couple of times, to get the right idea of how to hold it all in one hand and feed the twisting wire and all, but I thing it turned out really great! My main plan is to build triple strand wire and will post them when I get them done. |

WEll done! Great idea, thanks for posting. A lot easier to do than what I did, cut wire mesh and then glue onto toothpicks. [URL=http://s219.photobucket.com/user/tjm3/media/IMG_1055.jpg.html]

That wire looks the business. Both types do. It really looks very good indeed. But it looks likre a lot of work for not much length. I guess it depends on how much you need and how much time you have. I'm modelling wire in 15mm, which is much more forgiving than 28mm, and I need a lot of it. I used thin copper wire attached to nails in 4mm ply to make entaglements and minefield boundaries, and even that was a time consuming pain in the arse. I think I've got about 8 feet of the stuff and need to make another 16 feet, sometime. I guess, it depends on how much detail Vs how much you need Vs time to produce: the old conundrum. Good luck with your method, it looks great, and I hope you keep with it to make loads. Mine:
EDIT: You know, someone asked me why I bothered with the wire. From distance, you might only see the poles – he might have a point. |

In 15mm or less, copper wire wrapped around a pencil should do well enough. …Probably for 28mm as well. |

Wrgmr1; That looks great olicana; Those look great as well Yes it takes a little time and yes one doesn't get much wire from it but the looks are great, good thing I don't need alot of it right now but the nice thing is I can make more as I go as needed. |

If you can find a wire screen, just take it apart and wind the wires around a pencil for concertina. The spots where the wires intersect come out looking like barbs. You don't even have to paint it. |

Thanks, I have tried to fine such wire screening but not able to find it, so I just had to "think out of the Box" as to how is barbed wire is made and what materials I would need to do it! |
