Probably the most thoughtful programme available today in any medium. Always worth listening to this one.

The subject made me think this was going to be some kind of "sky galleys" game…

This was a good primer on Lepanto. Wargamers looking for more information should read "Gunpowder and Galleys" by Guilmartin.

I liked the variety of opinion on the battle's meaning..it saved Italy ..or .. had no effect whatever on the Ottomans.
