I have found a number of boardgames that depict the Trojan War. I was wondering if anyone had played a boardgame on the Trojan War and what people thought was the best game that depicts the war. Thanks |

I am at work and don't have my complete list but it includes Trojan War: Guild of Blades The Trojan War: Metagaming Troy: Chaosium Hector and Achilles I have yet to play any of them. I am trying to locate copies and find out something about them first. So, that is why I was looking for some TMP input. |

The Trojan War: Metagaming was ok but didnt really have the feel of the Illiad |

he Trojan War: Metagaming was ok but didnt really have the feel of the Illiad The problem was how deadly the combat was. Named heroes like Hector and Menelaus would drop like flies, which made you wonder why the Trojan War took ten years. Anyway, that's the only Trojan War board game I've played. I did enjoy it, despite my criticism of it. |

Like the other posters above, the only game on the subject I've played is Metagaming's "Trojan War." I enjoy playing the game, but as with the others I'm not sure it's an accurate reflection of warfare of the period. It's a fun game though. Also agree that the game's combat system is way too deadly for the story. After one big battle, both sides have usually taken really heavy casualties, so much so that they wouldn't be able to field enough men for a second big battle. I doubt the Greeks or Trojans would be able to do ten years of that. |
