I just got these VOTOM Fatties in a trade and they are a perfect size for 15mm see the metal figure for scale, my plan is to use them in my near future Polish army as Battle armour and as they have jet packs I will call them the "Winged Hussars" They are plastic multi part models that are now OOP they used to come two in a box with a vehicle from the VOTOM universe, I am going to rebase them on metal washers to give them a bit more weight and at some stage give them a lick of paint. I love these thanks :) Zac

Those a super. It always seems the best stuff is OOP. :( |

OOP? Maybe, but there's another iteration now on sale at HobbyLink Japan: hlj.com/product/TAK14139/Act
I like the idea of using them as "Winged Hussars" BTW. VOTOMS always struck me as one of the more thoughtfully realized, more military mecha to come out of anime (and I am no fan of large walking targets unless I happen to be shooting at them)…. Leland R. Erickson Metal Express metal-express.net |

You can still find them on E-Bay on occasion but expect to pay a premium price for them. Well there you go Leland has come to the rescue and they look like a great deal at $1.50 USD each. :) Personally I have never been a huge fan of the Scopedog's and have always much preferred the earlier Fatty VOTOM design, as mentioned they just look like more realistic. |

I've got a small collection of the 1:144th VOTOMs. Aesthetically I prefer the other versions to the Fatty, but they are great for 15mm. |

If anyone is interested in purchasing a Fatty from the link Leland posted above please read the text on the page first, its a 1/48 scale toy and stands 8cm or roughly 4inc tall which would make it mech size for 15mm gaming but it is still a fantastic deal regardless. |

Personally I have never been a huge fan of the Scopedog's and have always much preferred the earlier Fatty VOTOM design, as mentioned they just look like more realistic. Technically speaking, the Fatty is not an earlier design. In the original series, the Scopedog and Fatty are the standard Armored Troopers for the opposing sides of the war. The name "Fatty" is actually an enemy nickname for the suit. |

less than $2 USD for a 1/48 scale mech is ridiculous! I wonder how many they have on hand….? |

If you want to talk about it story wise, the Balarant Fatties were always considered inferior to the Melkian Scopedogs. And then the Melkians had so many other types of ATs, myself liking the Tortoise series more. |

Regardless of the design or variant the VOTOM's in the above photo are spot on scale to make for the perfect 15mm Battle armour that's why I posted them up. :) |

Looking good Zac. Looking real good. Saw your post before you made a good trade. Cant wait to see what you and Todd do in the end. Yes ODB, the OP line is OOP. Takara Micro World 1/144 line. No longer produced. And nice to see you tell the world about the HLJ sale but tell me i have to keep looking on my own. Seems unfair to me. Zac, too bad the ones ODB listed weren't what you had. At $1.55 USD that would be awesome and a ton would be bought. Shame :-( And yes, the HLJ link is for the 1/48 scale line. Darkest Star, They have had this sale for some time now. This version of the sale has been going on now for over 6 weeks and probably longer. The previous sale wasn't too long ago. Back in July i think from previous emails. So, i guess they have a ton. My 10 man package came today and added to the one i had. GF ordered 10 for me for Santa Day just before me. She doesn't recognize the lot on my desk downstairs yet. She will when her order arrives.
Anyone looking to part with any of these 1/144 mecha let me know at my handle through AOL. Grimm |

I'd love to get my hands on some of those Fatties, Grimmnar. The HLJ sale for $1.55 USD each is a steal, although I'm not as enthusiastic about the wait for international shipping. -Oops, I read that wrong; you're looking for more, not selling!- |
Grimmnar | 14 Nov 2015 5:18 p.m. PST |
Aristo, make the order. It's all good. Took less than the 30 days. Very professional. And right now no Longshore man strike to worry about. And I am not looking to get more of these, I am looking to get some of the ones in the OP which is a different line than what I have and the HLJ link. Grimm |

Grimm – Out of curiosity, do you think you could snap a few shots of the Fatties side-by-side with 15mm minis? I'd appreciate the references! |

I saw this, went straight to HLJ, ordered five for seventeen and change, including shipping. Best part is, they are even the color scheme I was thinking about doing a force. I win! |
