We played through a brand new scenario over the past week I had written for the BattlefrontWWII rules. This scenario represents the second North Nova attack on Bienen after an earlier, failed attack by two of its companies the morning of the 25th was brought up short before the village. It was played in 20 mm on a 4' X 6' board, with an expanded scale to accommodate the small area the fight took place in. The game gave me a chance to field my Archers and Wasps (Wasps quick conversions I did on some Airfix carriers). The game was a real nail biter with a surprise ending!

This is wonderful! The table was just gorgeous, and the lighting was perfect. Oh, and great game too. ;)

Terrific – thanks for sharing – nice to see the Archers.

Thanks all.

I realized after posting (duh) that it was Remembrance Day and this scenario was based on one of if not the last major fights 9th Brigade was involved in. It was a bitter day for the North Novas, especially at a time when the end was so clearly in sight.

Brilliant stuff. Great photography. Thanks for taking the time to put that together and share

Photographs give great fog of war look!
In the scenario instructions it say's no BUA's. What is a BUS then? does that mean spotting is through the length of the town?

Bill Slavin16 Nov 2015 6:54 a.m. PST

Thanks, Brucka.
A BUA is a built up area, which would normally block line of sight in Battlefront. A BUS is a single sector. So yes, exactly so, it means spotting through the length of the town if uninterrupted sight lines, although the layout is such that there is little of that.

Thank you! I also see your PDF link to the BUS rules. Thank you. The BUA was the trickiest/most off-putting part of Battlefront, I tried to avoid using many of them!

Bill Slavin17 Nov 2015 7:07 a.m. PST

True, because of the scale they always seem a bit counter intuitive in BF when seen in action on the table and the rules governing them are not easy to grasp. But I accept the assumption that it is very hard to spot into or through a village (BUA) where the houses are closely packed together on both sides of a narrow street. That just didn't apply to this town's layout.

That is the best looking game I think I have ever seen on this forum. :-0
