The TY website is up and starting to get populated…
link The design notes are a good read, but the 'what next' section bodes particularly well! On the Waaaay! |

I saw a copy of the rule book at Fall In. It looks very neat. Just what I need, a new period . . . |

It looks very cool, but I didn't see any Infantry US or Soviet. |

Have to say this is sort of the period I've been waiting for! Time to build some armies… Damon. |

Go to 6mm-1/285 scale. Overpriced GHQ is $49.95 USD for 10 T-72 tanks and 10 BMP-1 infantry vehicles: link PFC-CinC sells 10 T-72 for $14.00 USD. They call them T-80 but they're really T-72M :http://www.pfc-cinc.com/catalog/item/721915/7232816.htm |

I'm getting them but not for mass 15mm battles. More like Force-on-Force. But I'm intrigued that they are looking at smaller games. I might give this a shot. I just don't want to sink $200 USD+ into Russians and still not have a fieldable force. |

3mm Pico Armor is another way to go. They are very nice and the price is right. |

This is one period I just cant see doing at 15 mm or larger, unless it is just a squad or two on the table. Weapon ranges are just too far. |
NavyVet | 11 Nov 2015 11:30 a.m. PST |
3mm or 6mm would be the perfect scale for these rules . |

Go with a Soviet recon unit, or advanced guard force. For the former, 3 – 4 x tanks, 6 x BMPs, and 6 – 8 x BRDM-2s, and you've got a nice, balanced little unit, similar to that the US Armored Cavalry fielded, with their M551s (3 – 6 x)or M60A1s (4 x), M114s or M113s (5 x), and 1 x M106 for fire support. If you want a slightly later period for the Americans, swap out 2 x M113 for 2 x M150s with TOW, or go for a 1980s variant and use 2 x M901s instead). Of course, the above mixed units can be used to attack, or defend against an enemy tank, or mechanized infantry company, or two as well, if desired. Now, if only we had a 1/100th scale M114. |

Just use a large table, say 6' x 10' – 12', or so, and use 1" = 50 meters/yards for your gaming scale, like many other rules do. 20" per km. works very well with 1/100th scale minis, and at that scale, you have the space to fight out hypothetical battles using historical frontages and spacing planned for by the various attacking company and battalion units, on the tabletop. Of course, microarmor might be better for this, from a size standpoint, but the larger minis do look very nice on the tabletop, from the photos I've seen, so are worth considering as well. |

Mako11: You can use the Canadian Lynx CRV by QRF as a stand in for an M114. There are some small external differences but the vehicles look almost identical in 15mm. Cheers and good gaming. Rod Robertson. |
