How late can these guys go? Wold they stretch to Spanish vs Dutch very early 17th century? link |

The official description on the site says 1524-1648. The musketeers have late matchlocks, long but with no rest, and 12-apostle bandoleers. They look to me like the late end of the date range, early to mid-17th century. |

The figures are really a Frankenstein style mix of details from diffrent periods, few if any of which would have been in use at the same time and almost none which would have remained in use past 1600. ((Period of 1590-1610 saw several major changes in the style of the military clothing, and what was being worn in 1600-1610 was_very_diffrent from the clothes in use say in 1588. |

Hmmm. I value your opinion Daniel, you have proved yourself to be very learned on the period. Can you recommend to me a line of figures suitable for around 1610-1620 for Spanish and Dutch armies? |

Of course, during the decade 1610-1620 the Spanish and Dutch were at peace…. |

In fairness, I think the range in its entirety aims to cover the period 1524-1648, not this box on its own (although the cover art could perhaps have made that clearer). There are other boxes of infantry already for the TYW period, which have figures in post-1610 clothing; these guys definitely say late-16th Century to me – at least in terms of dress and headgear. |

Here are some pictures of some German Armor in the TYW, around the time of the Peasant's revolt. (Well, that's what was explained around the displays at Glatt Castle in the Black Forrest.)
More here, if interested. Just scroll down. link Hope this helps. v/r Tom |
