The convention was the perfect venue to honor and remember Larry Brom as we had 4 days of great gaming with many old friends. The Gunny Awards were as follows: Most Affable Game Master: Dwight Jones ("The Zanzabari Must Go") Most Congenial Player: Brian Lewandowski Most Striking Terrain: Ethan Reiff ("Road to Vengeance – The Battle of Charasaib, Oct. 6, 1879") Most Exquisitely Painted Figures: Ethan Reiff ("The Road to Vengeance – The Battle of Charasaib, Oct. 6, 1879") Most Holly-like Game: Dan Gurule ("Gunboats and Dhows") We will begin making plans for Colonial Barracks VI in 2016 and should have information on this after the first of the year. Thanks to all who joined us; it meant a lot. And thanks also to those who were there in spirit; you missed some great gaming! |

It was a great week-end! We really had a lot of good looking tables-- and not a bad game in the bunch. |

Hi Lori, I agree 100%. It was the perfect way to celebrate Larry's life. We prepared for CBV with the anticipation of fun and excitement only to be subdued and depressed by the passing of Larry. Upon arrival to the Con I received big hugs from my friends, Larry's daughters. They raised all of our spirits and instead of a funk hanging over the con we celebrated his life by doing exactly what he loved, playing Wargames, rolling dice, and hanging out with close friends. He will always be remembered and be with us while we play his games. As one of my close friends has said: "Rest easy Marine, you are relieved".
Cheers, JB

I was only able to attend on Friday, but I had a great time playing "Disperse, Ye Damned Rebels!" twice. Thanks to John for being such a great game master. |
