When I saw them at plasticsoldierreview I knew I had to buy them: Irish Troops and Irish Mounted Troops by Red Box. I have not received the mounted troops yet but I already painted two galloglass. flic.kr/p/AQFnpm Good looking miniatures of an interesting period. Easy to paint and not expensive at all. They look fine though I'm not too sure about the choice of a barrel helmet – its perfectly possible all the same. The review describing the Irish saddle as checkered cloth is wrong it is quilted leather. |

It looks to be based on the Lough Henney helmet – link – and would seem a reasonable choice to me. |
