I would love to put together a Munster army to fight some Dutch in 1672. Now i assume I just use the generic stuff available for the period but the problem comes when i paint the uniform. Has anyone got any information whatsoever on the Bishop of Munsters troops in 1672? |

This is the specific page in the marvelous rampjaar blog page to go to: link I used that source to paint the first Munster unit I have in Brown, yet to add the flag. In keeping with the Bishop leading them theme, I put a priest in the ranks as well. link |

Just what I was looking for. Thanks Nick. Any other reading to recommend? |

You've chosen one of the most difficult wars to find anything about in English my friend. I'm still struggling myself. It's like being in wargaming 40 years ago. There are a number of books on Louis XIV's wars, and the early campaigns are covered. But specific uniform guides, flags, details of battles, nope. This forum is very helpful: link |

So brown uniforms are the best guess then? |

>>I used that source to paint the first Munster unit I have in Brown, yet to add the flag. Just wanted to say that this is a beautifully presented Regiment. Well done Nick. Phil
