Hello. As my collection of Pico Armor grows I find myself in need of a way to store it. The majority of it is based on 4Ground wooden bases that are the same size normally used to mount 28mm calvary figures. I'd like something that is portable and don't mind making the carrier if that is what's required. Any ideas?

I use thin plastic boxes designed for storing papers, files, or photos. Office Depot has them and Michael's is another good place to look. Line the bottom with magnetic sheet and put metal bases from Wargame Accessories under your stands. Works great and the thin boxes save storage space.

Any suggestions where I don't have to magnetize the minis?

You could buy those econoboxes. It is what I use. Just make the slots larger to fit your bases.

You could simply use the boxes I suggested without magnets or metal for the bases and boxes…..and perhaps use some bubble wrap on top to protect them in transport. Too often, I neglect making the storage work for transport though, and that leads to breakage and chipping. Protect your work.

I actually have a case that might do that I want to sell. It is designed for jewelery but would work perfectly. It has 12 trays each 1" deep. Just glue down some drawer liner, and your bases won't slide around. Looks like this but the trays are just plain. You get the soft case and 12 trays.

Thanks for the suggestions everybody. I just tried out something that seems to be working well. I bought a small three tiered plastic case and lined the bottom of each tier with the grippy stuff normally used to line cabinets holding plates. The miniatures aren't slipping and it holds 34 stands. Not bad for a $3 USD case!!!!

I use old cigar boxes lined with cloth or felt and painted green.
