Kinda a leading question for Geoff at QRF, who I know did an army deal some time ago when an unofficial Cold War mod was made for FOW, but does anyone know if any other manufacturers are going to jump on the Team Yankee release with Army deals of their own? With a closely defined set of units, it would be easy to set up some bundles that competed/complemented the Battlefront ones….

I think this sounds splendid, particularly since the BF boxsets are over priced in my opinion.

He was running a Cold War Hot deal a few years ago.

Not sure whether that is still valid.

VonTed06 Nov 2015 12:41 p.m. PST

Not still valid (at least 5-6 months ago it wasn't….. I tried). Make it valid! :)

Do they still provide discounts for platoon and company packs?

While we're at it, assuming Geoff will be responding shortly, any work on the 1/100th scale American M114, and/or the Swedish PBV302 models?

Both are must haves for the Cold War, and my US Armored Cav Troop simply cannot make do with other kit, in order to defend West Germany against the tip of the Soviet and Warsaw Pact hordes.

The M114 was deployed for a pretty small window. You could do a lot with out them.

A little more than a decade, and in one of my prime time periods of interest (early 1960s – early 1970s).

I know I can use the M113s too, but the M114 is so cool looking, especially with that nice, big, 20mm cannon.

QRF/TSS have a sale on….

This will run from Saturday 7th – Sunday 14th November and you will get a massive 15% discount

Old Glory is considerably cheaper than the BF stuff. if you add in the Army discount card, way cheaper. Of course they may not have the kit you are looking for, but a good place to start

Don't forget Skytrex, their cold war stuff is very nice, they do the best 432s around IMHO…. Also Khurusan do some very nice MIA1s and Soviet gear in resin. Armies Army are also entering the field with Soviet airbourne AFVs. So far as I know none of the above are doing army deals though….I reckon QRF with their platoon deals are the best value for money though…

We do have a sale on all this week

To go back to the original question…

Kinda a leading question for Geoff at QRF, who I know did an army deal some time ago when an unofficial Cold War mod was made for FOW, but does anyone know if any other manufacturers are going to jump on the Team Yankee release with Army deals of their own?…

The problem is that there are a great many (modern) rules sets out there, Team Yankee, AK47, MSH, FFT, SabreSquadron, Force on Force…

Also boxed sets do tend to restrict you to the manufacturer's view on the makeup (or occasionally direct you into things they want to sell) ;-)

We prefer to offer the flexibility to the customer. You want M1s with Bradleys? No problem. Prefer to have M113s (or M114s). Simple. Prefer T-64s instead of T-72s? Easy. Can't afford to buy 10 MBTs at this time? So just buy 5, and get the rest later.

Our price structure (and automatic shopping basket discounts) should mean that it works out slightly cheaper too ;-)

M114?

Did someone say, M114???

Is there a new release I'm unaware of?

I agree with Geoff.

QRF's quantity discounts are a good way to go, since there are so many different forces available for various countries, and different time periods, that making up "boxed sets" for them would be rather daunting.
