With the upcoming release of Team Yankee for FOW, and the desire to expand beyond the limited initial US releases, would any knowledgeable posters here be able to list 'equivalent' (or nearest) BAOR kit to substitute for the Team Yankee stuff? (ie FV432 ilo M113, etc etc.) Aim is to cover the kit mentioned in the rulebook only (not the entire TOE) and to recognise anything that isn't comparable. Only asking for BAOR atm, GSFG is easy – swap the T72 for T64(B?) !! |

Or could look at Sabresquadron rulers. Has lits for BAOR. Better still can download free sample of the rules. And you can use proper ORBAT, not a fictional one. |

i spent years buying modern micro armor. and years looking for good rules. then the first gulf war happened and "modern" became a "why bother". mean to say, russian tanks are death traps, and western equipment is tops. i can't get interested in a game where a(insert modern western tank here) fires on a russian t54/t62/t64/t72/t80/t82/t90 and its a burning wreck. i remember reading somewhere that if the russian 125mm hit a western tank, it would also burn. i was a humble paratrooper, so i never saw a real tank battle, but i think the days of apfsds rounds "failing to penetrate" is over. i think, when playing modern tank battles, if you hit with a modern tank gun, its a kill. |

Team George, Charles, or Smedley? I'd go with Chieftains and FV-432s. Save for a few things, I've got Team Fritz well in hand. Just need to paint them. |

Chieftains, Challenger I and 432s. You could also have the 1 QLR Battlegroup of 86 and have 4 Warriors as well!! Tally Ho! |

Brits are on their way, so with a bit of patience you'll be BAOR'd up and ready to roll. Chieftains with stillbrew are the bomb! It's also arguably QRF's best cold war model, why not pick some up to practice painting with? |

And if you want to keep the equivalent of the TOW section (even though they were lost very early on), bung in a couple of Swingfires. But yes, basically just Chieftans, FV432s and maybe some Challenger 1s, depending on time period. Maybe some Scorpion, Scimitar, Spartan etc for the recce guys. |
