I have recently bought some 2mm battlepack from Irregular miniatures. Various tank variety, selfprop guns, planes, inf, hmg, tank destroyers, mortars and howitzers. Even Bren carriers and jeeps I'm very impressed with the models and quality. I'm looking for a set of rules that can be used for the that are a little more in depth than the ones included from irregular. I have been recommended dedicated the Blitzkrieg range but they are out of production till next year and having them reprinted is quite expensive. Does anyone know of a set that they would recommend. |

You could try Brigade Commander from Nordic Weasel. They are available on Wargames Vault. (Full disclosure, I was a playtester) 1 base = 1 company, with smaller bases for atatchments to companies (such as A/T platoons) so you can use large bases with lots of 2mm vehicles, and command a Brigade / Regiment on a 3 x 3 table, or even go crazy and push it up to a division. At that scale, they are a little abstract, so may not be to your taste, but they are pretty inexpensive so you won;t be wasting a lot of money if you don't like them. My personal preference is the smaller the figure, the bigger the battle! Good luck with your project and post pictures! |

Any rules would work. What level of game do you want to play? What do you want a stand of infantry to represent? |

For me once the models get that small I'd rather just play with cardboard chits. |

Krieg ohne Hass are specifically designed for 1/600 miniatures and are available from Magister Militum and even on ebay at the moment! One base represents a half battalion and all movement and interaction is controlled with a grid square system. A four by four foot table/cloth is plenty big enough for two divisions a side. See other posts on the rules title within the TMP. Please feel free to enquire for more detail. Regards, Lance. |

The 1/600 th range from Oddzial Osmy via Magister Militum and Fighting 15s are simply superb. I would advise that you check them out if the scale interests you? Very extensive range now, to include air support and still growing. Lance. |

Assuming you're looking for a higher level of command, things like Cold War Commander, Fistful of TOWs III, and Command Decision could all work, although my higher level games are planned for Brigade Commander from Nordic Weasel too. |

I really like Field of Battle WW2; link Mark |

Appreciate the shout-out. Brigade Commander uses company stands, so 3 tanks on a stand will look pretty good. Typical game is 10-12 stands though you can go bigger. Each company can have a platoon supporting them, with a smaller stand. Games play in about an hour, once you know the rules. |

Thanks for all the feedback. Would Brigade Commander work with 2 tanks to a base instead as i dont have enough to base them in 3s |
Weasel | 06 Nov 2015 12:52 p.m. PST |
The number of figures on the base aren't really important. I base with 2 (in 3mm) but I kinda wish I had used 3, just so it looked more beefy. The only important part is that you can tell company and platoon bases apart, either through number of figures or base size. |

Spearhead might be pretty good in 2mm, you could stick with original basing (30x 30mm) and get plenty of figs on there for a platoon… Would look pretty good |

It's worth adding that bases are often pretty easy to transfer between games. We've played with the same figures in Spearhead and Command Decision and it went fine :) |

Command Decision would work as well, just base 3-5 tanks in a single base. |

You might also consider Look, Sarge, No Charts: WWII. They were designed with 10mm figures in mind, but I have seen them used with 6mm. They would work great for 2mm. Buck Surdu (one of the authors) |

I think the key to your decision, now you have chosen your figure scale, is game scale. Do you want to be representing individual vehicles or have several together to represent a company or battalion? Lance. |
zenturtle | 12 Nov 2015 5:24 a.m. PST |
i like the idea that 1 tank is 1 tank but that seems very unlikely at this scale or at least 1 counter with 2 tanks on it. Thanks Surdu. how much are the rules ? im looking for company level formations so that i can make the most of small amounts of models |

does anyone have any experience with Fire and Fury Battlefront WW2 ? I have played alot of fire and fury ACW and wonder how easy it is to go from one to the other |

You might want to give PanzerKorps a look at this scale. Each stand is a company and the smallest maneuver element is the battalion. |

Zenturtle – I couldn't get on with them in the couple of games I played (assuming I'm remembering the same rules!). In F&F you roll on the table for movement- likewise Battlefront; you also have the d10 mods. Now imagine you are ordering a F&F division, 1 roll for all of them, but the individual brigade mods apply for each unit, so you have to remember to apply each mod for each unit. |

Mein Panzer is at the one model equals one vehicle scale, same for guns. It would work well for 2mm as it would be close to the game scale of 1"= 50 yds. There is a lot of support for the game on the ODGW.com website. |
