For all of you visiting Germany, Northern France, Belgium or Holland in the future.
The Airborne Museum in Arnheim
The report is in German. But there are many pictures and so you will have an overview of the exhibition in the museum.

I'm so ticked my computer is out and couldn't translate Dutch to English. But even the pictures are worth the visit

That's just as well as the text reads German to me

Thank you guys. What did I wrote:
Only a short introduction about the battle and its outcome. The description of the photos; and of the airborne experience: That's a really modern event presentation: Good sound, video films, "war simulation": You go through a house, you hear a tock-tock-tock (a bouncing handgrenade) and booouuuummmm. For example. A little bit scary movie or tunnel of horror.
Here in Germany such a presentation isn't possible. Our neighbours are more easygoing than we are.
I don't want to judge it. Just have a look. It's interesting.

Yup – a great museum…also they sell (for about 4 euros I think) a reasonable Pzr IV which fits nicely for 28mm for the sake of a lick of paint…my wife has 6 of them.
If you're interested you could join us at Arnhem for a big game on 2nd January – check out the 'Arnhem at New Year' thread.

Ugly is nice to have a wife that enjoys the hobby as well.

It's nice so long as I do as I'm told. I would say I am hen-pecked, but I'm not allowed to.

Wow, that's close to me here in Eindhoven, looks like I have a trip to plan after Crisis 2015 this weekend! Thanks for the post. I've been fortunate as my wife finds the local history interesting.(We are Americans working here). We come across markers and memorials on our bike rides and I've explained Market Garden to her. Band of Brothers was of course a good gateway too. I guess I'm fortunate!

Given the day that is approaching next week don't forget to visit the nearby Airborne Cemetery in Osterbeek. It is a few streets away from the Hartenstein Museum.

daler – mail me … thathistorybloke@outlook.com …we'd be delighted if you could join us – and your better half of course! We'll be playing at the NH Rijn Hotel, which incorporates the old Rhine Pavilion, a significant location in the battle. Also, we'll have a room (the one with a huge balcony) in the old Rhine Pavilion part of the hotel, so you can come up and see part of the battle area from an actual firing position. It's kind of cool and Pat and I will undoubtedly have a small game or two focused on that – you guys would be very welcome to join us.
DeRuyter…well said; thanks for reminding us all!
