With limited hobby time, but still wanting to do something productive, I thought I'd start off a Mighty Empires campaign (the old version, not the more recent one).

I've set up the map and determined starting points values for the four nations. Full details on my blog here:

Thanks for reading!

Hi JJ

That would be a good program. Makes me wonder how easy it would be to scan the tiles and combine them with some kind of hex map app for tablets.

Unfortunately the picture I took was just on my phone, so it wouldn't be good enough. But I like the flexibility of drawing it up and what was in this post was just the initial sketches. I'm going to print some hexes without numbers and get my colouring pencils out! :) But I agree with your general idea, it would certainly be possible.

Its a great campaign system, and as you suggest, can be very enjoyable played as a stand alone system even without using a miniatures battle system.

Elegant, simple, captures the key elements of medieval nation building. I bought about 3 boxes of it when it was available so I have lots of tiles but I agree it would be great to have a digital version.

Yes it another wonderful GWS system/Game throw on the trash heap by the bean counters at the head office.

Yup. It is a great game. I actually got my copy second hand for £3.00 GBP Best £3.00 GBP I ever spent! It had a few of the bits missing, but I've collected some of them from eBay over the years.

I've got all the WD articles, but not copies of the ones from the Citadel Journal. Do you have them as well?

Cheers
Chris

JJ,

Any chance I could get a copy of the Journal articles too? Sorry to be cheeky.., I've been looking for hard copies of issues 3 and 5 for ages with no luck!

I love Mighty Empires, but the thin paper tiles always bugged me. How is someone supposed to keep the map from blowing away? I've thought about backing them on clear acrylic hexes to give them some heft, but I haven't got around to that yet. Does anyone have any other ideas?
