I'm going to leave more options open for you to invent but, given the spark for this, you can probably suggest better. My suggestion, unless you are Corsican or from Palermo (you gents are different, I know) is to get over it already. But my choices would be this: 1. No more argument. I live in a liberal democracy. If I want to change the status-quo I have a voice. If I'm stupid people will not listen to me. 2. Yes, I want conflict, bring it on. No surrender, take my wife and rape my cat. Anyone who disagrees with me is wrong. To hell with democracy, I want what I want, you are wrong. Who cares if I'm stupid. 3. I live in a place where I have no choice. If I speak out I will be imprisoned and tortured, maybe worse. Please help, however you can. Sorry fellas, but going back on what was decided 150+ years ago when the world is in the state it's in…… ……..please…. |

4. Become a politicion by giving away free stuff for votes. Once my cronys, fellow losers and I are in power, increase taxes and regulations on the parts of society that disagree with my world view, continue to give free stuff to my supporters. Eventually, become so powerful, through working the system, those who would call me a loser can now suffer in my for profit gulags, making free stuff for my voters. Damn, this is a fun game. |

oh my, I ruined the perfect peace of meaningless polls by adding some meaningless polls that refer to history. Shame on me. Oh and by the way mate, historical wargaming is pretty much going back to events 150 years ago and seeing how you would deal with the same problem. Savvy that. |

Oh and by the way mate, historical wargaming is pretty much going back to events 150 years ago That is a fair statement. But you are not talking about the warfare involved, or wargaming for that matter, in any meaningful way relevent to this forum (IMHO). You are talking about the politics that led to a confict, for what ends I cannot understand. Savvy that. |

I am the great-great-grandson of a Union private (Dad's side) and a Ukranian Cossack (Mom's side) so I figure things even out |

One of my great grandfather's served, doubt he fired a shot in anger. Served as an ambulance driver due to his age. He spent his 18th birthday in Andersonville after being caught by Bedford Forrest. The rest of my ancestors were still in Europe. On my wife's side, she has a crowd that were serving in the Virginia regiments |

Who cares what horrors my Anglo/Spanish/American Indian ancestors might have done? Or why? I am not a slave to their past mistakes/choices. Sheesh, even for TMP… |
