Hey there!

sometimes when I buy stuff online, i'm surprised about how different in size things are even when they're all supposed to be 15mm. some are larger and some are smaller.

anyone know if the BTC rail fences for 15mm are on the large side or small side? I'm thinking of purchasing some but was hoping to get an idea. My ACW figs are the 18mm blue moon on 3mm think bases (so more like 20mm) and i'm worried that if the fences are on the small side of 15mm then my figures will tower too much over them.

but if they are on the large side then it'll probably be a good fit. I've never seen the fences in person and it's hard to tell from the pictures..

thanks for any help!

-Stewart

That would be Battlefield Terrain Concepts, one of the top purveyors of terrain and scenics for the wargaming hobby today.

His products adorn all of my game tables.

BTC is heading off to Fall In, but if I get a chance I'll stop by his booth and measure a few…

He bases them but on super thin sheet metal….

You might also consider these:

TRF1 measures 17mm from base to top rail.
TRF2 measures 13mm from base to top rail.

There is a contact page on BTC's site. Please note that Doug is usually at the Fall-In! convention that starts later this week in Lancaster, PA. You may or may not get an immediate response but he is a great guy and BTC is a great company to deal with.

BTC was at Nashcon. I think his stuff is great. I bought "miles" of his flexible latex roads.

Forgot about Fall-In, my bad.

Doug's been gaming and in the terrain business for
a lotta years. Much of my terrain is from his company
and goes back years.

Stew art, I just measured the heights of our two fence offerings:

Snakerail Fences are 14mm tall (including base), and the 5-rail fence is 17mm high including the base. On special request we can add a rail to the snakerail fences to make them another 2-3mm taller.

Also our snake rail fence kits will allow you to build them taller if you prefer.

thanks for all the responses. i've gotten hills from BTC before so i know of the quality. i'm also interested in BTC bc of the metal base as it fits in with my magnetic storage.

@stonemtnmini – i was unaware that you made fences, i will consider them for a later purchase just to add some variation to my ACW battles

@BTC – thanks for the info, very helpful. Will be placing my order soon as a christmas gift to myself. i think the 17mm 5 rail fence will look good.

My BTC fences are on aluminum bases not steel, so do not work with magnet lined storage…

Our base supplier has changed. I think they are now steel, but I am not sure. The snake rail fences are on metal bases, while the 5-raii are on base wood.
