These don't look too bad for Strelets. I'll pick some up to see if they will work with my 20mm Sergeant Major's Wake Island Defenders

I think with Lewis guns and M-1903 Springfields these would work better as USMC. The 31st Infantry in the Philippines already had Garands.

Strelets also released a set of Japanese airborne troops.

Strelets also lists future Pacific War offerings – Another U.S. set, Japanese in tropical uniforms, and USN AA machine guns.

Talk about obsolete weapons, the guy at the bottom has a matchlock and battle ax!

Right! It's very apparent that he (those 4) don't belong in this set.

Pretty ugly figures but Strelets often paint up well.

Certainly fills a gap.

I do agree with ochoin, while they may not look pretty unpainted, Strelets does paint up well. I think I see a possible Chinese Inter War project coming up….

I don't think Strelets figures are worse than many metal offerings out there. They are sculpted with over-sized details for ease of painting, just like metal. These are some of the better figures they've made.

The last figure is a bonus figure that Strelets puts in every set. link

Well the Philippines did get stuck with the obsolete weapons!! Although I wasn't aware that we used ancient Russian weapons! Maybe Ivan the Terrible sent troops there to help defend Bataan???

I don't see Springfields. They look like Garands to me. The Lewis gunner would definitely fit for USMC in the Philippines and maybe Wake/Guam.

Also too many Thompsons! A M1919 crew would be nice. I might have to look into these figures even though 20mm isn't my scale.

Here's a view of the sprue:

And here's an Ebay auction for them too:
