Attention – Age of Eagles II (Napoleonic Fire & Fury) is ready for release 6 November 2015.*

This is the second edition of the original rules, with glossy covers, BW interiors. Same length as the original with no change in retail pricing ($ 30 US) though some costs have squeaked up and I went for a heavier weight paper on the inside. Its not putting food on my table, so I'll just eat the cost. Spiral bound.

This is not a hard bound, color glossy coffee table book. Instead this is an evolutionary, vice revolutionary 2d edition and will accomplishing the following:

All grammar, vocabulary and spelling errors corrected.
Interpretations of rules integrated into the actual text of the document.
Rules changes, from both me and my 3000 + person Yahoo Group added and integrated into the text of the document.
New rules and data charts, from both me and the Yahoo Group added and integrated into the text of the document.
A few new images, to include the front outside cover, just to spruce things up
Changes are identified by underlined text.

Dennis Shorthouse of On Military Matters will have them available for sale at the Fall In convention, 6 – 8 November 2015, and he will also accommodate wholesale orders from vendors.

AOE II will be available direct via the AOE Website NLT 9 November 2015. As always, I pay the priority postage for US sales, half for foreign sales.

Sample pages can be found at the following Onedrive Public folder – 1drv.ms/1M3uMRm .

* Folks who play ACW, Lace Wars or 19th Century European are receiving this given F&F's origins and the fact you will need these rules to play the two expansion modules, Age of Honor (Lace Wars) and Age of Valor (1848 – 1914, FPW, etc).

Good news!

Good news. I will buy from OMM, as I have a few other things to pick up.

Can you please advise what the basing requirements will be for Age of Valor? If they will be the same as Fire and Fury, could you please indicate that. I have a feeling, however, that I saw somewhere that light infantry would have different basing.

I appreciate that this thread is about AoEs, but I sent the basing question to your website and haven't had a response, probably because you've been busy getting AoEs out.

Thank you

Actually, I could have sworn I've answered this on the group before.

No worries. The basing for leaders, artillery and cavalry is the same as for AOE. The basing for infantry CAN be different, but it doesn't HAVE to be different. Remember we are moving into an era where the frontage of a regiment could vary wildly depending upon the number of companies it released forward to the skirmish line.

Soooooooo the AOE basing will work fine, but its more for the 1848 scenarios and the Russians in the Crimea. Otherwise the new foot basing is 1 inch wide by 3/4 inch deep. Regular infantry has three figures on the base, light infantry has two.

Hint, the same as BOFF

Thank you.

I have followed the F and F basing (except that I had to use bigger bases to fit the artillery), so that sounds like it will work ok.

Any release date for AoV?

Regards

Excellent news Bill. I am a V&B player but I do love it when others in the area put on games with AOE. I will certainly purchase them and look forward to playing them.

Aussie,

That should work fine. As for AOV, I just finished the 1866 Seven Weeks War section and will be having a demo game at the Fall In convention next week.

Working as fast as I can, then I retire (so no more Napoleonic scenarios except for freebies I intend to do for fun).

Will the rules be made available ask a PDF file?

Thank you

A lot of folks have been asking about a pdf, but as of now there are no plans to produce AOE II in that format. Age of Valor, however, will be a digital pdf.

Nevertheless, let me get this first stampede for orders (one distributor has already increased his order from 50 to 100 books) and I'll take a look at doing so.
