i believe that lads name was Hubner. he was a hq "runner" and destroyed a js2 with a panzerfaust. |

john lacour-- I think you are thinking of Alfred Czech. He was 12 when he was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class. Wilhelm Hubner was 16, although he does look like he was 12. I had that "problem" myself. I enlisted in the Army when I was 17 and left for basic training just after my 18th birthday. The drill sergeants all messed with me because I looked about 13. But now I am 44 and get told I look not a day over 35, so who's laughing now? Paul |
