Crap. I've missed having painted figures for n x 100th anniversaries of Trafalgar, Waterloo, Agincourt, the First Crusade, and 1812. I'll be able to get enough in time for the 1000th anniversary of the Danish invasion of England next year, but I'll not get enough WWI done. Planning ahead, I could feasibly do WWII, but really would prefer to live into my 80s and do 1066 in 2066. Why were no good battles in the 20s and 30s of any century for which accurate orders of battle are known? Time to go and listen to War Pigs. |

Many thanks for the suggestions, chaps. Tenochtitlan would be a very serious undertaking indeed, being combined arms (for the time) and a giant terrain project. Very rewarding though, with clear objectives such as the bridges and aqueduct. It could in principle also be done in situ. The rest give me much to think on. There's also 29 years to prepare for La Forbie. I have serious doubts about doing that in situ. |
