I know that in modern parlance it is a High Tech Gun. However I have encountered this term in the Skirmish Campaigns "Heroes of Omaha and Panzer Lehr." This is under the German force organization where there is one gunner and two assistant gunners and the weapon is within a Plazer Grenadier Platoon HQ Squad. I cannot figure out what this is.

Could also possibly be referring to the SDKfz 251 with the 37mm ATG mounted.

That is exactly what it is.

Ah! That is exactly what it is!!!! I did not put the fact the HQ came with a 251/9 vehicle as part of the unit. (face palm)

OK who makes a 251/9 in 28 mm?

It'd be a 251/10 rather than a /9 I think – several available in 28mm – I think Rubicon, probably JTFM, definitely Warlord.

I tend to use 251/9s as my 'HT guns' in the Skirmish campaigns scenarios. They are still pretty rubbish but a bit more fun for the Germans.

Besides, I have several of those, whereas my 251/10s are sadly lacking….

It doesn't make much difference to the scenarios. I often re-write them anyway to bump the force levels up (often up to brigade level!).

251/9 was still found on the company level, so it would not be all that odd to see one (or two) supporting a panzergrenadier platoon.

Well, that is what I figured, a gun or two from the company weapons platoon, or attached from Battalion.

I've got a spare Pak 36 now so at some point Ill make up a 251/10 (might cut the shield down).

Panzer-Lehr had Sdkfz 251/10 as platoon commanders' mounts and also a pair each of Sdkfz 251/9 and Sdkfz 251/2 at company level (plus more of each at battalion level).
