Why do wargamers need painters tape, and is the dollar-store variety good enough?

Cat litter for rubble.
You can get a lot of mileage out of just broken walls and piles of rubble with only a few more substantial buildings in between.
Don't get hung up with precise measurements. Just start hacking away! Things are supposed to look rickety and ready to collapse after all.

All of them I should think. Hitler wasn't going to give up that easily.
