Great stuff, Chasseurs D'Afrique, Cherry Bums and Sutherland Highlanders and all that.

Rumour has it that the survivors of the Light Brigade had a re-union dinner sometime afterwards, more than 600 turned up!

Not sure if that is a true story!

More than 600 did turn up at the re-union dinner, but that included members of the regiments at the time who didn't actually ride into the Valley of Death. I think only about 120 of the 664 that charged were killed; many more were wounded; 50 or so were taken prisoner.
