I'm trying to get specific Vallejo paints but when I go to their site and look up their color chart and I can't get the same number that corresponds to certain websites that carry their product. Is there a way to match the color numbers from their site to online retailers? What online retailer matches the color # that I see on Vallejo's site? Thanks for any help or guidance. |

I primarily use Vallejo Model Color paints which have two numbers on the label. There's the paint number and the position number. For instance, Green Gray is position number 101. The paint number on the label is 70886. On the Vallejo Model Color chart it's 70.886. I recommend trying to match the last three or four digits of the Vallejo paint number to those of online retailers. Example: Thewarstore.com look up paints, vallejo model color, look in the range Vallejo Model Color 851-899, You'll find Green Gray is 886 and there's also an M101 on the same item. 101 is the position # and 886 are the last three digits. link |

Use the numbers. Vallejo change the names pretty often. |

Oh, and beware, the paint chips don't necessarily correspond to the colors in the bottles, other than very loosely in some cases, for important colors like various shades of green. At one time they were going to release actual paint chips that you could buy, but I don't know if they ever produced those. |

Remember that Vallejo produces more than one type: the Arte Deco paint has of course not all those specific "game colours" but it does have 180 different colours with (of course) the same quality. I use both the small game colours (model colours) and the much larger Arte Deco colours – and thus much cheaper – together for years… link |
