Here is a fun little farm scene I did for my AWI, F&I War type farm. Mr. John Bryant painted the figures. I painted the cart and did all of the groundwork. The "hay" is cut up twine and pencil sharpenings. The first photo shows the scene without the cart, so that you can see all of the figures clearly. Besides I like the way the hay looks attached to the tool. [URL=http://s222.photobucket.com/user/nevinsrip/media/003_zps09sjgjmf.jpg.html]

Very nice vignette well done! However, the hay looks more like straw. |

Looking good! Are those Perry Miniatures and Minden civilian figures? Very convincing. |

If it is hay, use it as straw – no green at all so no nutrient for the beasties to speak of. :V) |

Yes, a mix of Minden and Perry figures. The wagon is either Perry or Foundry. |

Bill, what do you do with all of these vignettes you produce? |

Another masterpiece, there isn't anything else to say! |

Bill, what do you do with all of these vignettes you produce? I use them in displays of larger battle scenes. I like the idea that smaller scenes could be combined to make larger scenes. But the pieces are not locked in, allowing me the ability to use the same pieces in various arrangements. This piece shown above, will see service on several different farmsteads. And look right at home in every one. I am in the process of making the larger terrain boards where all of these pieces will one day reside. I hope??? |

Very nice, how did you affix the straw? I don't see glue? Did you use a spray on adhesive? |

The bottotm layers of straw were attach with full strength white glue. Additional layers were built up using matte medium soaked over the straw. I coated the rim of the pitchfrk with super glue and stuck it in the hay pile. What stuck is what you see. Hope that explains it. |
