I think the initial photo a few soldiers are wearing what appear to be Canada service medals. A few guard officers seem to be wearing Crimean War medals.

Very interesting photos many thanks for posting. In the one you put in your 03/08/17 10:10 PST post, just try and take those colours! The guy standing on the right in particular looks like someone I'd want on my side in a fight!

Cuirassier: Thanks again. Really enjoying seeing photos of troops of that era in formation. They remind me of some Britains toy soldiers I obtained as gift when I was a kid, (still have most of them, luckily). John Miller
